Crackdown on illegal number plates. Police are cracking down on illegal number plates. The reason for this is because of the success of anprs cameras. Many forces have been experimenting with this equipment and are delighted with the results and efficiency they bring. Many uninsured cars are caught but the added bonus of denying criminals the roads is bringing other crime down.
