Chess Pieces - Let’s Start Out
October 26th, 2008
Compiled of 64 squares (placed 8 rows by 8), alternating between light and dark, a chess board offers the metaphorical battlefield on which participants play. From this point forward, chess players are able to design their approaches, defend their sovereign, and hold their earth.
At the start of each game, chess pieces are placed at the top and bottom rows. From these opening locations, strategies and maneuvers develop. Played between two adversaries, chess is fundamentally a fight between 2 armies. The chess pieces equate to that of a medieval armament, furnished with a king, a queen, 2 bishops, 2 knights, 2 rooks, and 8 pawns.
